Bonnet House

The 35-acre estate was bought by Hugh Taylor Birch who gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter, Helen, and Chicago artists Frederic Clay Bartlett in 1919. The house became Bartlett’s canvass, and his whimsical touches, as well as wild monkeys, are everywhere.
