Nanette Workman est une chanteuse et actrice américaine née le 20 novembre 1945 à New York, New York (États-Unis). Elle a grandi à Jackson (Mississippi) et y a commencé sa carrière.Elle chante en français et est devenue une star au Québec après sa rencontre avec Tony Roman en 1965. Elle a également été une des choristes du groupe britannique Les Rolling Stones et de Johnny Hallyday.
En 1975, elle signe un contrat avec le producteur Yves Martin et elle lance plusieurs disques sur étiquette ‘Pacha’, dont les albums ‘Lady Marmelade’ en 1975 et ‘Ce soir on m’invite’ en 1976.
En 2007, elle est honorée par le gouverneur M. Haley Barbour lors de l’ouverture du Nanette Workman French House sur le campus de l’Université d’État du Mississippi à Hattiesburg.

Dimanche le 22 juillet, lors de l’événement Christmas in July organisé par Shake a Leg Foundation, Daniel Depelteau a présenté le show Nanette Workman en collaboration avec Desjardins Bank, Universal Palm Hotel et Destination Soleil,

Hi friends, I said I would keep you posted on the event. It is this afternoon. Daniel Veilluex from Desjardins is one of my sponsors, He paid the airline tickets for us. The other sponsor is Jean Guy Sylvain, the owner of the Univeral Palms hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Sylvain offered us the rooms for our stay here. Lovely hotel.
Marco ( I don’t know his last name, and no one here at the hotel seems to know it either, LOL) the manager and chef of the Venetian restuarant in the Universal Palms Hotel, .had originally agreed to give us meals and then when we got here he was reluctant but finally agreed to give me and the band one meal a day as his contribution for the charity, but on the condition that we didn’t eat steak or fish. Pretty tacky huh? LOL
Guess I won’t be eating at that restaurant anymore.
We had a great BBQ last night at the home of Yvonne Courage and her husband Dennis. Yvonne is a quebecois journalist on the internet and was very generous to us. The boys in the band had fun in the pool playing ball. It was so much fun to watch. They were like little kids. I want to give a big thanks to Daniel Depelteau for putting this together. It was a lot of hard work to organize, as most charitable events are. But the kids are going to be happy and that’s what counts. I’ll keep you posted.
